The opening ceremony of “NAU Dean's Distinguished Speakers Series” and the first session were held successfully

On January 6, NAU held the opening ceremony of “NAU Dean’s Distinguished Speakers Series” and the first session of the lecture via video successfully. Dean Richard Chambers, former president and CEO of IIA, Ms. Jenitha John, former IIA Chairman of the Global Board, and Prof. YU Anping, vice president of NAU, were present at the ceremony. Deans / directors of relevant schools and departments attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided by Mr. GE Sheng, Director of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange of NAU.

Prof. YU Anping, vice president of NAU, addressed the ceremony. He thanked Dean Richard Chambers for his continuous support for the development of NAU, and also thanked Ms. Jenitha John for accepting the invitation to be the first distinguished speaker of the series. He indicated that the “NAU Dean’s Distinguished Speakers Series” is one of the most important contributions by Prof. Richard Chambers, as NAU’s first overseas “Honorary Dean”, which will inspire and enlighten the teachers and students a lot.

Dean Prof. Richard Chambers stated that, “NAU Dean’s Distinguished Speakers Series” would be a great platform for the world-renowned internal audit experts and scholars to share their knowledge and experiences to the teachers and students of NAU. He hopes that through these series of lectures, the teachers and students can better understand the latest developments in the field of internal audit, and work in a concerted manner to push the development thereof.

Ms. Jenitha John gave the first lecture of the series. With the theme of “Internal Audit – Responding to Heightened Expectations”, she introduced the new realities of internal audit, resilience redefined in the workplace, Internal Audit Transformation through T.A.C.T.T. (Technology/Agility/Collaboration/Talent/Tenacity), as well as the key competencies needed for internal auditors to adapt to new realities, and embracing the 3 Lines of defense Model. She also answered questions from teachers and students. The first lecture was rounded off with warm applause.

“NAU Dean’s Distinguished Speakers Series” will be held on an ongoing monthly basis, with the world-renowned experts and scholars being invited to share their knowledge and experiences in internal audit and risk management, aimed at building NAU into a high-level and featured university with important influence at home and abroad.
